There’s no single right answer to “when should we come to Ölüdeniz?”, because the right time depends on what you want to do. Someone who wants to spend hours in a warm sea and someone who wants a parasailing flight away from the crowds won’t have the same ideal month. In this guide we look at the water sports season in Ölüdeniz month by month and by time of day.
- The water sports season usually runs from April to the end of October.
- Warmest sea: July–August. Most balanced period: June and September.
- For peace and quiet: May and October; the sea is cooler but crowds are small.
- The best time of day for most activities is the morning; for photos, the late afternoon.

The best period by activity
Parasailing
As parasailing doesn’t involve getting in the water, wind and visibility matter more than sea temperature. It can be done all season; June and September are very comfortable for both weather and crowds. On clear days the colour of the lagoon is at its most vivid from above.
Jet ski and towables
On activities like the jet ski, banana and ringo you are bound to get wet, so they are more enjoyable when the sea is warm, from June to September. In May and October a thin rash vest helps for short activities.
SUP and canoe

Late-afternoon light gives much warmer, softer results in shots with Babadağ and the lagoon in the same frame. If you want your flight recorded, consider these hours for a drone video; drone filming is done when weather conditions allow.
Planning around wind and weather changes
In Ölüdeniz the wind often picks up in the afternoon. Wind directly affects whether activities such as parasailing and jet ski can go ahead. So:
- Put the activities that matter most to you in the first days of your holiday, so you have time to reschedule if needed.
- Use mornings for activities and afternoons for flexible plans.

A short warning for hot summer days
