Why Ölüdeniz instead of central Fethiye?
Fethiye is a seaside town with a marina and plenty of coves. When it comes to water sports, though, Ölüdeniz has a few clear advantages:
- An open yet sheltered bay: The wide bay in front of Belcekız Beach is well suited to towables and parasailing.
- The view: Babadağ, the lagoon and turquoise water in one frame. On a parasailing flight this view is unique.
- Everything within walking distance: The beach, restaurants, the lagoon and boat departure points are close to each other.
- Several experiences in one day: An activity in the morning, a boat tour at midday, the lagoon in the late afternoon.

How to get to Belcekız Beach
- Dolmuş: Minibuses from Fethiye centre to Ölüdeniz run frequently all day in summer; the ride takes about 25–30 minutes. The route goes down via Ovacık and Hisarönü.
- Taxi: About 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
- By car: Drive down to Ölüdeniz via Ovacık–Hisarönü. In July–August parking near the beach can be hard to find around midday; come early in the morning.
